The Power of Paper

I may not be great at much, but one thing I am pretty good at is sending handwritten notes. Thank you notes, hellos, how are yous, thinking of yous…whatever.  The main reason I think I am soooo talented when it comes to this process is because it is incredibly easy but also it can be fun (I swear) with the right perfect paper.

When Douglas and I moved into our fourth house in three years of marriage (tell me about it), one of the things I was most excited about was having a “place” for everything.  It’s the little things y’all.  One of these important places was for my stationary.  Let’ s be honest, fab stationary ain’t cheap.  So I like to stay organized and have everything “together”.  Keeping stamps, nice pens, paper for ALL occasions (think: birthday, wedding, thank you, no particular reason notes, etc) in one place makes life simpler and will make you more apt to writing these often coveted and underwritten notes.

At the risk of sounding dramatic, I think that handwriting is a dying art… for real.  I am so lucky to have two grandmothers still alive and well and sassy as ever.  They truly want nothing of me other than a phone call, a visit, and a note here and there. A note to my grandmother from one of her grandchildren (especially ME!!) is better than any gift she could receive.  So, take a look at some of my favorite picks, order them up, and send a note to your grandmother, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your whoever! And make someone’s day.  ASAP.
