I originally published this article two years ago but I recently started dry brushing again and am obsessed. The benefits are all still there and I can literally feel it working (tingling skin, helping with stomach issues, softening the look of my dreaded cellulite). Cheap, effective, and GOOD FOR YOU.
Do you guys drybrush? I admit, I slack in the drybrushing department but am really trying to make it a daily habit. One of the most recent pieces of convincing evidence I came across was this great video from our friend Vani aka The Food Babe. Watch it, then come back to me.

Unlike the detox drink, you don’t have to worry about drinking it after a meal so it gives you plenty of flexibility. Drink it whenever you want! The ingredients are very different. This drink starts with filtered water, cold pressed lemon juice, horsetail, red clover, cayenne and hydrolyzed marine collagen peptides.

After six days I felt like my skin had gone through a cycle where I had broken out (maybe partly from last week’s detox as well) but was beginning to clear up. My skin looked brighter for real, my pores a bit less noticeable and the texture really smooth. Big changes for me who has never had very good skin!

I loved reading the founder’s story and how she developed this app to empower and educate consumers. Like many of us she didn’t realize how many cancer causing and hormone disrupting chemicals are found in products we use everyday.
The Kit best describes how the app works: “Think Dirty is an app that allows you to scan bar codes of beauty products, or search by a key word, and up comes a dirty rating. If the product has a rating of 0-3, it’s considered very safe with ingredients that do not cause any negative effects, while a 10 is a big red flag indicating that there are ingredients that could cause negative long term effects. The app rates the products by three categories: carcinogenicity, developmental and reproductive toxicity, and allergenicity and immunotoxicity. My beauty routine is not nearly as clean as I want it to be but I am hoping through this app, I can get to a much healthier place. There is also a Shop section on the site where you can get the cleanest products all in one place. I’m so sold!
So, you have long heard me sing (scream?) the praises of my beloved Apple Cider Vinegar. I have a small “shot” a couple of times a day followed by copious amounts of water to protect my teeth. I use it in marinades, every salad dressing, in my morning lemon water (that I used to drink religiously until I had a baby BUT I will get back to this!) and even throw a splash in my green smoothie (it is undetectable, I swear).
I came across this article on Health Ambition that caught my eye. Want me to sum it up for you? Scarlett Johansson uses an ACV mixture as a face wash. Um, if it’s good enough for #scarjo it’s darn sure good enough for me.
Step 1: To begin making your apple cider vinegar face wash, take a small bowl and pour around a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 3 tablespoons of warm water into it for a 1 to 3 ratio. As your skin gets more comfortable with ACV you can adjust this up to a 1 to 2 or even a 1 to 1 ratio.
