Wow! Guess where I went for lunch?

Pippin Hill Farm is where!!! Well…..to think this hidden gem is only 50 minutes away from my town of Lynchburg should make you madly jealous. Of course, unless you happen to live in the middle of Virginia like I do. Normally, I have to travel to DC, or LA or where I grew up….good ole NYC to find the perfect atmosphere, the most delicious food that is LOCAL AND ORGANIC, fantastic wine and fabulous service. But, my envy has officially ended and now—– it is your turn.

Pippin-Tiffany This is me…..being blown away by the insane view. I just couldn’t get enough. Just thinking about it this very second makes me want to jump in the car and head back to my little oasis of happiness. Okay, so it didn’t hurt that I was with amazing friends and got served one of the best glasses of ice-cold rose (not the nasty sweet kind) to sip on. And, I’m not even going to tell you which wine this is because you’ll just have to find out for yourself when you find your way to Pippin Hill Farm. It is open from 11-3 for lunch and from 3-5 for a small but worthy menu too, 11-5 for wine tastings. If you just got engaged, look no further. If you want to try a cooking class or have a retreat for 25 or more you would be crazy not to check this place out. Dang, it sounds like I own part of this place or something.(that would be nice, but I am just a paying customer)

Pippin-wine glassWhy did it take me so long to find my way here? Because it is the best kept secret in Virginia. (well, it was)  And if it wasn’t for my crazy blonde cohort Rachel torturing me with the best foodie pics and wine pics and more food pics and more wine pics…… I probably wouldn’t have ever known about this little gem of perfection.

Oh, and just in case you are wondering. The pics don’t even come close to doing justice to what this place looks like in real life. Find a way to get here. You won’t be disappointed.

How old are your Brussels Sprouts from the grocery store???? Yikes!

5 reasons to shop at farmers market

Watch this ^^^ and meet my amazing friend Kenneth Burnett from Three Springs Farm (again….) and hear how old your supermarket produce can be! It literally shocked me!

So geez….How old is the food we are buying in the grocery store??? Sometimes a week or two or three….sometimes way more than a month. So find out where your community market is and go buy some fresh and freakin’ delicious food!

Local makes me happy,

Tiffany

Heading to Phoenix?……Don’t miss my favorite restaurant. Flower Child.

The Flower Child in Phoenix, Arizona is an experience that is almost indescribable. You’ll know what I mean when you get there. And you will get there. Promise me. The food is spectacular but that is just the beginning. The employees are literally spreading love with their overwhelming kindness, patience, (if you only knew how long it took us to decide what to eat because we literally wanted EVERYTHING on the menu) knowledge, and warmth. The Flower Child is worth finding a reason to go to Arizona!

The Flower Child’s fundamental promise is “to serve healthy food for a happy world.” It means they work with ranchers who respect, protect and love their animals – and their food supply. The proteins are all raised naturally, without additives. The organic produce is guided by the wisdom of the Environmental Working Group. Local sourcing is a priority. They know their farmers and their families. The food is always cooked fresh. And served quickly. They’re fast. But they never cut corners. You can taste it. They are grateful. Humbled. Honored.

To put it simply, if we ate at the Flower Child the first night we arrived at our Nutrition and Health Conference….we would have never even tried another restaurant. They even had the best Kale Salad we had ever tried or made…..and trust us….we may not be a connoisseur of wine or beer, but when it comes to kale salads, we know our stuff.

Spread the love, check it out….xo
