Hoping for a Little Extra Luck in 2016? Me too. So I’m Making…

BEP

I am Southern through and through, born in Tennessee and raised in Virginia, traditions are a part of every holiday, special occasion and life event.  One of these traditions begins the very first day of each year. According to Southern Living, eating black eyed peas for “New Year’s Day supper will bring you fortune in the year to come.” Hey, it’s worth a shot right?

For 2016 I decided on this veggie filled lucky bean soup recipe from Green Plate Rule.  And I am so glad I did!  I followed the recipe precisely (I even doubled it!) but I did use canned organic tomatoes.
